SYSTCO-UNILAP LTD

Founded in 1974, Unilap was first established as South Yorkshire Saw & Tool Co. by Darrell Hughes (Managing Director), subsequently changing its name to Systco-Unilap Ltd. in 1992, although trading as Unilap.

The main function of the business was to sharpen and supply cutting tools to the woodworking trade, via a reliable pick-up and delivery service operating within a 100 miles radius of Doncaster. This has also developed into a fast, efficient postal service for more ‘far-flung’ customers.

Over the years Unilap have been at the forefront of technology using up to date C.N.C. machinery for sharpening TCT tools and profile grinding, giving the highest quality cutting edges. The sharpening service is backed up with large stocks of new tools, including saw blades, drills, knives and PCD Tooling.

During 1995, aware of the fast and recent increase in interest and usage of P.C.D. tooling, Unilap took the decision to invest in state of the art machinery and electronic projection equipment.

The decision proved to be well founded as the company now has several of the latest erosion machines, including the Vollmer QM, QW, & QWD, all housed in a new factory in Doncaster. This has allowed them to develop a competitive edge in manufacturing and servicing every type of P.C.D. tooling coupled to a fast and reliable turn-around throughout the UK.
